NDPC CEO Leads Strategic UK Training to Build Globally Competitive Data Privacy Workforce

In furtherance of the Capacity Development pillar of the Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), the National Commissioner/CEO, Dr Vincent Olatunji, led some members of staff of the Commission to participate in a week-long Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) Train-the-Trainer Specialists programme in the United Kingdom.

The programme strengthens DPIA expertise and internal capacity to support the NDPC’s goal of building a sustainable, globally competitive data privacy workforce. It aims to help create over 500,000 jobs in Nigeria’s data privacy ecosystem, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)’s Renewed Hope Agenda of generating one million jobs in the digital ecosystem and achieving a $1 trillion digital economy by 2030.

The capacity-building initiative is a professional certification programme facilitated by the Data Privacy Academy under TRECCERT accreditation. This reinforces adherence to global best practices, strengthens regulatory competence, and enhances the credibility and consistency of data protection training and compliance delivery in Nigeria.
