NDPC CEO Dr. Olatunji Receives ISACA Leadership Award for Global Contributions to Data Privacy

The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, was honoured with the Leadership in Digital Governance Award by the Abuja Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to digital governance, particularly in the areas of data protection and privacy at the global level.

The award was presented during a working visit to the Commission by a delegation from the ISACA Abuja Chapter @isacaabuja, led by its President, Emmanuel Omoke @emmaomoke .

During the visit, Mr Omoke commended the NDPC, under the leadership of Dr Olatunji, for its consistent support for ISACA. He explained that the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the new President of the Abuja Chapter and to present the Code4Privacy Hackathon Report. He noted that the hackathon has gained international recognition, with plans to expand it to the global stage. He also officially introduced the 2025 winners of the hackathon, adding that they are currently being mentored by ISACA.

In his remarks, Dr Olatunji warmly welcomed the delegation and highlighted the consistency of the collaboration between the NDPC and ISACA since inception. Reiterating that both organisations are partners in progress, he commended ISACA for the Code4Privacy Hackathon, noting that it aligns with one of the Commission’s strategic roadmap pillars on ecosystem and technology. He congratulated the hackathon winners and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence through innovation and learning, while wishing them success in their future endeavours.
