The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, was ably represented by NDPC’s Head of IT & Cybersecurity, Mr Olorunisomo Isola, at the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Cybersecurity Forum with the theme, “Digital Sovereignty: Building An Agile and Resilient Nation.”
In his goodwill message, Dr Olatunji commended NCS for providing a vital platform to shape Nigeria’s digital future, while highlighting the importance of data protection in a rapidly growing digital economy. He reiterated NDPC’s commitment to supporting initiatives that align with its mandate and strategic roadmap, and urged all stakeholders to embrace innovation, education, and collective action toward a secure digital Nigeria.
He also participated in a technical session focused on “Building Trust through Data Protection and Privacy.” The session explored data governance, privacy frameworks and trust-building mechanisms, emerging technologies, innovations in data protection, privacy rights, and cyber resilience.
The event brought together professionals, policymakers, and cybersecurity experts committed to strengthening Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
