The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, was represented by the Head of Legal Enforcement and Regulation, Babatunde Bamigboye, Esq., during a courtesy visit from the Nigeria Youth Organisation, led by the President, Mr Duke Alamboye.

Bamigboye, Esq. emphasised that many of the Commission’s initiatives are specifically aimed at the youths. He stated that the Commission prioritises youth development as vital to the future progress of the country. Given the numerous challenges young people face in the digital space, raising awareness about data protection and privacy is essential.

Mr Alamboye commended the Commission, noting that its youthful staff demographic demonstrates an understanding of the importance of empowering young people. The Nigeria Youth Organisation seeks collaboration to advocate for sensitisation and empowerment training. With a target of empowering 10 million Nigerian youths, they expressed their willingness to partner with the Commission in its advocacy programs and campaigns.
